Amateur Radio Notes, Projects & Logs

I'm a licensed amateur radio operator. This site is where I keep notes on my hobbies, write up projects in, and collect the references I keep needing to look up again.

If you landed here from a contact on the air — welcome, and thanks for the QSO.

My Callsign, W9ACW was originally my grandfather's callsign assigned to him in 1939. I've written a post about this history Why W9ACW that goes over this history as I have found and researched my grandfather's amateur radio activites.

New to the hobby? I've written a short introduction to what amateur radio is, the bands and modes people actually use, and how to get licensed: What is amateur radio?
